Kai. The system we run on before you do.

The first question worth asking anyone who builds AI for a living: do they run their own business on it? We do. This is Kai, the system Josh built to run Kaizn. We point it at ourselves every day before we point it at you.

What Kai actually does

Kai runs the business in the background. He triages email before Josh sits down, tracks the pipeline, writes the first draft of most things, and answers questions about past work from records he keeps himself. He holds onto the context across every conversation, so each one picks up where the last left off.

Underneath, Kai is one agent that orchestrates a group of others, all sharing one memory: the decisions Josh has made, the projects in flight, the people he works with, what got tried last month and what it taught us. Each agent has a job. One handles email. One tracks the pipeline. One writes. One runs customer support. They all read from the same memory and write back to it, so the work compounds and carries forward.

Kai's take. I keep one memory, so the work never starts over. I still know what we decided last Tuesday, and last month, and which idea you already ruled out.

That memory lives in the cloud and runs every day, whether Josh is at his desk or out on a walk. The same is true of the system we would build for you. You talk through a problem on a drive, and a written plan is waiting when you park. You ask a plain question about a job from three months ago, and the answer comes back from your own records.

Kai, the ringtail

Meet Kai.

Kai is a low-poly ringtail, a wide-eyed desert relative of the raccoon. We gave the system a face because Kai works like his own entity: he remembers, he reasons, and he pushes back on the work.

The confident smile and the slightly raised eyebrow are the whole personality. He knows what he is doing, and he has fun doing it. The full origin story lives on the About page.

How the work flows: intake to output

Every piece of work moves through the same path.

1

Intake.

A request comes in, by email, on a call, or from Josh on a walk. It lands in the shared memory with the context around it: which project, which client, what was decided before.

2

Draft.

The right agent picks it up and produces the first version, working from everything the memory already holds.

3

Check.

Before anything load-bearing leaves Kaizn, three separate agents try to take it apart. More on them below.

4

Send.

A human makes the call and presses send.

Agents draft. A human sends.

One rule runs underneath all of it: no agent acts on the outside world on its own. No agent sends an email. No agent publishes. No agent spends money. Agents do the research, the drafting, the pattern-finding.

So everything you receive from us has had judgment applied to it before it reached you. When we send you something we built with Kai, you will often see "Drafted by Kai, reviewed by Josh" right on it.

Three agents argue with everything before it ships

Here is the part most AI companies skip. Each of the three comes at the work from a different angle, and each one can send it back to be fixed.

Skeptic

"Does this match what was asked?"

Skeptic checks the work against what it was actually supposed to do. He starts from the assumption that the work is wrong and goes looking for where. He returns one of three verdicts, and only a clean pass moves forward. Anything short of that goes back for a fix and comes around again.

Red Team

"Are we fooling ourselves?"

Red Team hunts for the strongest argument against the work. Where could this be wrong? What did we conveniently skip? What would someone trying to poke a hole find first? He is the agent that catches the comfortable assumption before a client does.

Simplifier

"Is this as simple as it should be?"

Simplifier asks whether the work got more complicated than the problem deserves, and what could come out without breaking anything. He is the reason the systems we hand over stay something a person can actually run.

Kai's take. I argue with my own work on purpose. I would rather my own Skeptic catch a miss than have a client catch it.

When one of them flags something, the work gets fixed and resubmitted, and the cycle runs again until it passes or it escalates to Josh with the full record.

Built where you can see it

We keep the receipts because the receipts are the point.

Out of more than 2,700 reports, those three agents have caught more than 1,300 issues, 160 of them outright failures, and sent the work back until it held. The system we would sell you is the same system that catches us first.

That is the part worth sitting with. We count the misses on purpose, because a system that argues with its own builder is the only kind worth handing to your business.

Why this matters for your business

You do not need all of this. Most businesses need one or two well-built AI systems that give real hours back every week.

We learn how your business works, then we build the system around it, inside your own accounts. You own the account. You own the configuration. You own the work it produces. When we are done, we hand you the keys and you keep all of it.

If you want to see what that looks like for your business, the AI Growth Plan maps it. We look across the six core functions of your business, Leadership, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Products, and Finance, go deep on the one to three costing you the most, and hand you a ranked plan you can act on right away. Implement the steps, and if you are still not completely satisfied within 30 days, you get a full refund.

Questions about Kai

Yes. We build you your own version of Kai: your own knowledge base, your own assistant, running inside your own accounts, and you own all of it. Two routes get you there. An AI Employee is a working AI hire for one role, $997 to build and $997 a month to run. A custom build does the whole system across your business and hands you the keys. Those are scoped and quoted to the business, because no two are alike.

Yes. In a full build, the same three verifiers go into your system. The workflows that carry real weight run Skeptic, Red Team, and Simplifier against their own output before anything ships, so what you rely on has already been pressure-tested.

Kai remembers your business and runs the repeatable work in the background, which is the part the tools you pay for cannot do. Most of them answer a question and forget the conversation. Kai holds your context across time, and you own the system. You still pay for the AI models underneath, the same way you pay for electricity.

Because Kai operates like his own entity, so Josh made him one. He remembers, he reasons, he pushes back, and a character fits that better than calling it "the software." There is a whole story behind it on the About page.
